- IR remote--The JBL On Stage IIIP IR remote has several modes of operation. The Music mode allows you to control the volume, change tracks, fast forward, and fast reverse. - Battery-powered--The JBL On Stage IIIP system uses most types of AA batteries. Six fresh AA batteries allow up to 12 hours of continuous play at normal listening levels. I was looking for a set of battery powered speakers that I could use while trailer camping. After reading other reviews, I was not expecting all that much from this product. I was, however, surprised to find that the sound quality was excellent. My Touch plugged right in, and everything worked perfectly. The little operating remote was an added bonus. I had no idea that was included. If you want a set of speakers that can be battery operated, you cannot go wrong with this product.

This thing is awesome. If you have an iPhone you can get the iheartradio app and play your favorite radion stations on this thing as well. The sound is amazing and it is definitely worth every penny!

I am extremely satisfied & impressed with this purchase. The sound is really amazing for such a small, portable devise. Im my mind, as goood as my larger BOSE Ipod docking station. I would recommend it to anyone want a smaller, easier to carry along, docking station. Quality and price are well worth it.

I was looking for a portable speaker dock for my iPod and decided on the On Stage IIIP. This is the best sounding portable unit I have listened to. The sound is rich and the base is respectable considering the size of the unit. The 6 AA batteries last about 12+ hours so rechargeable or using the provided AC adapter is recommended when possible. While this doesn't provide the power and performance of my Lansing boom box, it is perfect for patio parties.
