very handy September 3, 2010 carp Works great with iphone. I use it with noise isolating earbuds in a noisy shop. Allows me to listen to the ipod and never miss a call (have to leave the shop of course when answering). Voice command also works from this unit so the iphone can stay in it's case.
Works well July 29, 2010 rally3 (Roseville CA) Works well, Now I can finally wear my favourite headpones at work while using my I-phone.
the cord ends up a bit long but the button is easy to use. No one has complained about sound quality.
NICE but not for car use July 28, 2010 Clayton Giovanni M. (O-HI-O) I had a different phone with a different mic. That phone died and wanted to start using my newer phone to plug my car stereo in and using the lapel mic to talk hands free while driving. In the past nobody has had any problems with this kind of setup...
Now with this unit and new phone and new service area (yes, probably other contributers to my problem) when I made calls/or received, I would be told that people i am speaking with hear an echo of their conversation coming back to them. I have been adjusting the volume on the car but I don't think that is really helping. Shows me that the mic isn't made for this and doesn't cut out (Half-duplex) when the other parties are talking.
It's great for when I have to listen to messages or make short calls..but..i like my road trips. I will still be checking out other units and i have bought 2 so I can use my phone handsfree at the computer. The other unit is a different manufacturer and suffers the same problem. GRRRR..
I hope this is helpful because the rest of the unit functions as expected! I still recommend it to let you walk about with your phone and have headsets on..:)
Can't recommend July 24, 2010 BuzzCut (WA USA) Usually love Griffin stuff but this is a very poorly designed product. Had two and both malfunctioned - iPhone either didn't respond to the device or started doing random things.
Griffin were great about replacing the first one even though it was just out of warranty but the new one broke within a month. I threw it in the trash and didn't bother replacing. 5 stars for customer service, 1 star for product design.
Does not work with iPhone 4 June 27, 2010 pixie.susan 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered 2 of these, one for my car and one for my Bose Headphones so I could hook them up to my iPhone and talk on the phone. They do NOT work with the new iPhone 4. They do work with earlier iPhones. The actual "jack" 'is too short for the new iPhone. Also I emailed the company and got no response at all from them.
